After sorceress Alexandra

in an attempt to keep her safe. Living among humans, she keeps her connection
with the supernatural by working for vampires and werewolves.
When she stumbles upon a
hurt werewolf pup her efforts to heal him inadvertently break the bonds tying
the young lycan to the pack, making her his new alpha.
This is the least of
Alexandra’s worries though, for back in the Otherworld her father has not
forgotten her. He dispatches an assassin to kill her. But just who is this
mysterious foe, and what will their arrival mean not only to Alexandra but to
the delicate balance of the world?
Nature
of the Beast is the first book in the Tangled Bonds
series.
Excerpt: Gravel shot from beneath my tires as the car skidded to a stop. I tore toward the house, leaving the door open, the shopping bags long forgotten.
The sight welcoming me when I burst
through the entrance made my blood run cold. The carpet was gathered on one
side of the living room as if someone had slipped on it. There was broken glass
everywhere, and some puddles of amber liquid, which, judging from the stinging
aroma, were what remained of our collection of fine spirits.
But the really scary image was that of the
enraged werewolf snarling and snapping his fangs at Chris. My friend was
crouched on the other side of the room, holding on to the rifle as if his life
depended on it, which might not have been far from the truth. Nic snarled at
Chris, Chris threatened and yelled, and Sean stood in the middle, shouting at
both.
“What is going on? Chris, put that gun
down.” I really have to remove the
weapons from the house.
As expected, nobody heard me over the
ruckus.
“Enough!”
The single word snapped, the magically
amplified sound colliding with the walls and vibrating like the clapper hitting
the interior of an old church bell. The guys froze.
“What, for fuck’s sake, is happening
here?”
“I told you. One second we were playing;
the next he goes ballistic.”
“Chris, put that gun down.”
“Have you lost your mind? Look at him.”
He had a point. Nic looked feral, his eyes
black and wild, his fangs dripping and exposed.
“Nic! Enough.”
His ears twitched, but he gave no other
sign that he’d heard me. My power flared, and a heavy stream hit him head on.
It wasn’t meant to hurt, only to demand submission.

About the author
Born in Romania, land of the Iele and Vlad the
Impaler, AIMEE BRISSAY has spent all her life surrounded by books. She has
ridden side by side with d’Artagnan and The Three Musketeers to retrieve the
Queen’s diamonds, set sail on the Erasmus in search of the Japans, fell in love
with Rhett Butler and roamed the Wild West along Old Shatterhand. She has
walked on the footsteps of the Olympian Gods and searched for Zalmoxis’
sanctuary in the Carpathians. In her mind, she’s never been the damsel in
distress but rather the knight in shiny armor fighting for a
cause.
With a background like
this, turning to writing was no surprise.
Aimee discovered erotica
early on in life and has never looked back. Now she can write anywhere, even in
a crowded room or a busy subway station, but she loves solitude.
When she’s not at her evil
day job, she can be found writing or playing with her cat. She welcomes
messages from readers and promises to answer all of them as soon as
possible.
